I have a 10 year old jack russell terrier poodle mix who is the love of my life. He is also sometimes the bane of my existence lol - particularly when he decides he needs to “mark” my new apartment by peeing all over it when I am at work.I took him to the vet - he’s okay - he’s just being a stinker. And I mean that literally - my apartment stunk to high heaven. I soaked as much of it up as I could with paper towels, and vacuumed and used my little green bissell with the standard pet carpet cleaning solution but it was not cutting it and I was sure I was missing spots. I was frustrated and looking up professional carpet cleaners, thinking I couldn’t do this myself.I bought 3 Nature’s Miracle products - the urine destroyer, the odor eliminator spray, and the carpet shampoo. And I also bought a nifty little black light flashlight so I could see the spots I really needed to hit.I was using this on pretty thick plush carpeting and was worried about over-saturating but I read a bunch of tips in other reviews as well as the instructions and here’s what worked for me:Make sure as much of the urine has been soaked up with towels firstVacuum the carpetShake the bottles before use!! I forgot to do this one time and it was a total waste - the enzymes need a little shimmy to activate.I poured the urine destroyer directly on the carpet (I will say, if you have a spare cup or spray bottle maybe use that to control the pour - the spout kinda just pours product out at an alarming rate and feels a little wasteful) but I did really saturate the spots.I then covered all of the spots in damp towels - I used both actual fabric towels and paper towels (a few stacked together to make it a bit thicker than 1 ply) and both seemed to work well. This was a tip on the back of one of the products I believe. I left this for 12 hours per the directions.Be aware - it smells quite strong. Open windows are your friend. Also - the odor eliminator spray helped here actually. I just spritzed it about like febreeze and it made it much more bearable. After the 12 hours is up, I took all the towels and immediately chucked them - seriously just trust me toss them. I had hoped to keep the fabric towels to use a second time on my bedroom (I used them in the living room first) but they seem to soak up all the urine smell from the cleaner so they are disgusting - thinking of them makes me nauseous and it’s been like 2 months lol.I then busted out my little green bissell carpet cleaner - it’s awesome - I used to own a giant upright carpet cleaner and this tiny one is much more effective and much more user friendly. Also on Amazon and I recommend it highly. I added the Nature’s Miracle carpet shampoo to the cleaner line on the reservoir and then added water - I used lukewarm since I couldn’t get a clear idea online as to proper temperature since cold seemed right for pet odor removal but a lot of tips said warmer was better for activating the enzymes. I aimed for in between - hand washing temperature basically. Now here is a lesson I learned. I was so nervous about over saturating the carpet that I didn’t use a lot of water from the sprayer - just soaked up what was already in the carpet, did a little spray, sucked that up until it was dry and moved onto the next spot. This does not work. I had to go back later and do it proper - suck up all the urine destroyer, then spray the crap out of the carpet - it will feel like way too much - then do more. Then suck all of that up. Then spray it again and suck it up again. If you have a little machine like mine you might have to refill your tank and empty the dirty - that’s okay.Once the water I was sucking up looked nearly the same in the dirty tank as the clean tank (not identical obviously - but was clearly “cleaner”) - I considered myself done.I let everything air dry - it really wasn’t very soaked after sucking all the water out luckily. And spritzed the odor eliminator spray about again. All in all this process took me a few days, and was a bit taxing on both my nose and my back. But when I left that apartment - there was no stain, and no smell of any dog accidents - and some of these stains were definitely set in since there were spots I had entirely missed and only found because of the little black light flashlight I bought.I was nervous about the smell returning after I had moved out but when I called about my deposit they said I was receiving it back in full. The carpet was new when I moved into the unit so if they’d had to replace it I assume it would have come out of my pocket so obviously Nature’s Miracle came in clutch.I have just reordered the urine destroyer since I used all of it up prior to my move so that I can spot treat a couple stains from my old boy - he had an allergic reaction to a new medication and had a couple seizures and while on the mend he had a couple accidents in our new place that I want to get the jump on before my family visits in a couple weeks. I have no doubt it will work perfectly and these will be products I keep in my arsenal as a pet parent as Davey enters his senior years.Okay, I've already purchased this shampoo twice. So... I am pretty sure I like the results. I used this product to squeeze out a few more months of the cheap carpeting my home came with. Between raising a little pug, and my brother who spills everything, and I do mean everything, This was a tall order. I wasn't expecting too much OR a like new carpet, but I am pretty pleased. Like they say, you must shake the contents really well! I have seen a really big difference and am not too embarrassed any more with my old carpet. I think the scent, (original) is nice and isn't too cloying. The stains have mostly disappeared, and those that haven't have faded. I am using this next bottle to try and improve my carpet some more. I feel this product has lifted so much ground in soil that once dried and vacuumed again, it sure feels nice on bare feet. I can't think of anything bad about this shampoo. We needed to deep clean some carpets which- admittedly- hadn't been shampooed for far too long, and we've always had pets. This did an excellent job deodorizing, as all Nature's Miracle products do, and helped the rental carpet cleaning machine get the majority of the ground-in dirt out of the carpets. A light colored carpet came allllllmost fully clean. Not the product's fault though. To get completely clean, hire a service, and then keep up with a shampoo every few years. Lesson learned!I used this with the folex stain remover. I vacuumed, then pretreated the stains with folex. Then I shook the carpet cleaning solution. And added the correct amount to my carpet cleaner. The stains were gone. I went over it once with cleaner and once again with just water to rinse. I was expecting the stains to come back within a few days because they do with other removers but not this one! I waited 2 weeks to be sure and they haven’t came back! Love it! Definitely will be my go to now!Cleans spots and smells. What more do I need?great for the price. I have pets and periodically wash my carpets. This helps with keeping things smelling fresh. If you have pets, you need this...especially if you have cats. Its one of the only odor removers that has worked in my house. Even if you think your pets aren't using your carpet as a toilet, they are you just can't tell. From petty cat piss (iykyk) to excited puppy droplets...you need this.I like the smell of it and the solution does well, only thing I don’t like is that my pets seem to nibble where the solution is used. Seems the chemicals attract animals to itI have recently got a bottle of this but after some research I noticed it contains Propylene Glycol which is harmful to dogs and cats, especially with cats as it can cause Heinz body Anemia. I purchased this under the impression going by the label it was in the majority at least a natural product and as it is aimed at households with 'Pet Stains' and so pets it would therefore be SAFE to use around them! VERY misleading product! Research Propylene Glycol, it is NOT safe for dogs and cats who walk on treated areas then groom themselves and so ingest what is an ingredient found in ANTIFREEZE & with a sweet taste! Wikipedia on PG>>>"it is prohibited for use in food for cats due to links to Heinz body anemia.[46]".......Cats and dogs lick/groom themselves and may walk on treated areas 24/7 so would ingest and absorb this through skin/pads just the same as eating it. Do not purchase this thinking it is all natural or pet safe, it is not!I actually bought a couple of bottles and used a carpet cleaner to clean all of our carpets. We moved into a rental home and when we went downstairs, it was obvious that whomever the last renters were had a huge dog that they would just let urinate anywhere in the carpeted basement. I told the landlords, but they claimed they couldn't smell it (even though any other person going down there would ask what that smell was). We used this stuff and went over the carpets very slowly. Within a few hours of finishing, they actually smelled worse. Within three days and mostly dried, the smell was completely gone, even when I got down on the floor to sniff the worst-hit areas. In short-- it works!I will be honest it’s not as good as I thought it would be but it’s okA very good product that has worked really well. Does what it says.I used up the small container of solution that came with my Hoover Carpet Cleaner on several areas of carpet that had stains on them. I needed to purchase more so that the rest of the carpet in my house could be equally fresh and clean. When this Nature's Miracle cleaner arrived. I did the rest of my basement carpet, about one third of the family room had already been done and looked great, so wanted it all to look freshly cleaned. The very next day going downstairs to admire my freshly cleaned carpet there was a nasty smell that just hit you as you got downstairs. The room had been well ventilated during drying, furnace fan running as well as a large box fan to circulate air. Even though the carpet was now dry, the smell was very prevalent and after a week isn't going away.I'm puzzled - the carpet is only a couple of years old and gets very little traffic/use. I'm puzzled that cleaning a large section of the same room with another product didn't make it smell. You should make your own decision whether to buy this product, I can only tell my experience, but I have ordered another product to clean the carpet again and try to get the smell out.
